Build A Better World is this year’s 2017 Summer Theme. Our Program starts June 28th at 10:30 and continues through August 2nd, when we will have our end of the program party! This coming week, July 12th, we are discussing the importance of building up our environment. The kids will be spending the majority of the program handling activities that coincide with the discussion. We hope to see you there!

You may have read or heard about some of our Summer Reading Club programs, but be sure to look at all the wonderful events included in our June-July “Build a Better World” themed Program Guide 8×14
Please note that one event is NOT listed in the guide: Tuesday, June 25th at 1:00 p.m. Mary Tooley will present her “Animals are Builders Too!” program for school age children. They will learn about animals and construct their own take home paper spider web and spider.
August events are also in the guide.
REGISTRATION and PRIZES:
The Summer Reading Club kick-off is on June 1, from 5-7 p.m. You can register,participate in activities, and enjoy light refreshments courtesy of the Friends of the Library.
To go with the theme, participants will be able to vote via sticker for a charity via their reading and completion of various activities. (Donation lists will also be available.) Completing reading and activities will also earn participants a weekly STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) kit, such as a catapult, to take home.
Local elementary schools will be competing for a reading trophy and a special “Pete the Cat” Story time at their school.
Weekly activities for ages 0-18 include Maker Mondays, Summer Story Time,Itsy Bitsy Story Time, Teen Scene, Volunteens, Tinker Thursday, Walking Book Club, and puzzles/games, guessing jar
Activities for adults and teens include Books Outside the Box, Genealogy for Beginners, Local History Resources, Walking Book Club, puzzles/games, guessing jar, and Wednesday Afternoon Book Club
Special Events : Boldt Blocks, Pokémon Trainer Club, Animals are Builders Too!, Moms’ Clean Air Force (air quality), Pete the Cat Story Time, Lego Story Club, and Computer Coding Camp
**No programs the week of July 3-8**

Preschool Story Time is a great opportunity for children to come listen to stories, sing songs, move, create, think, and do! Tuesdays at 10, children ages 3-5 and a parent or caregiver participate together for learning and fun. (Siblings are welcome)
Dates for January and February: (**note: no PST 2/7/17)
Children ages 0-3 years with a parent or adult caregiver are invited to join Miss Lara for songs, simple stories, movement, and more at Itsy Bitsy Story TIme Wednesdays at 11.

Wednesday, December 14th at 6 p.m., join us as author Steve Romano reads his new picture book, The Adventures of Amerina: the Garden. This is an opportunity for aspiring writers to ask Steve about his writing and publishing experiences.
Wednesday, December 7th at 6 p.m. will be our Lego Club night for December. Come make ornaments to help decorate our Lego tree for the season.
On Wednesday mornings at 11:00, join Miss Lara and lots of little friends to sing, hear stories, recite rhymes, and play! This program is designed for ages 0-3 years old, but siblings are welcome. Adults are encouraged to sing and play too!
