We are looking forward to our next quarter of programming! We will be publishing a booklet for September through December library events very soon. To tide you over, we have our Coming Soon Flier September 2017
Children’s Programs: Preschool Story Time, Itsy Bitsy Story Time, Lego Club,
Pokémon Trainer Club, and Paws & Tales all begin the first week in September.
Adult Programs: Common Ground and Choose Your Own Book Club will be new additions to our schedule. The Wednesday Afternoon Book Club, Books Outside the Box, and the Genealogy Discussion Group will also be back in September.
For other upcoming events including author visits, Science Fest, our annual Holiday Open House, and up to date changes, please be sure to check our Facebook page at “Stephenson Public Library”.
Free Glasses: We are so happy to share the news that our libraries will have free solar eclipse safety glasses to pass out! These will be available the DAY OF THE ECLIPSE. We are not distributing them early as we need to be sure to have enough on hand at our events. We look forward to seeing everyone on August 21st! Please check with your branch library to see what time their event will begin.
Time: The eclipse lasts for several hours, so we understand that you may want to finish your observation off site. That works! You will be able to take your glasses with you that day. The eclipse will begin at approximately 11:54 a.m. and end at 2:36 p.m.
Safety: For your safety, it is important to use undamaged, unscratched safety glasses. Even a small scratch can result in eye damage.

The money was earned by participants in the “Build a Better World” Summer Reading Club courtesy of a donation by our Friends of the Library group. We hope that this helps everyone feel that they can make a difference right here in our community.
More Pete coming soon…. Schools also had the chance to earn a visit from Pete the Cat for their elementary school by earning the most points for their team by reading, creating, learning, and doing with the Summer Reading Club.
