Storytime to begin @ Wausaukee Sept. 19

Summer is almost over and fall routines will begin.  Make Storytime part of your routine!  We meet every Wednesday morning @ 10:30AM for about an hour.  We sing a little, we read a book, we play a little, we do a craft, we read another book, we have a snack and we may read another book!  All ages are welcome.  Please call the library for more information at 715-856-5995.  Our first fall Storytime in on Sept. 19th.  The following is a list of all of our Storytimes until Christmas.  See you soon!

The Wednesday Afternoon Book Club meets at 1:00 PM at the Stephenson Public Library (1700 Hall Ave., Marinette). New members are welcome to join the discussion.

Marinette: Retirement Accumulation Workshop

November 5 at 6 PM at the Stephenson Public Library

Hors d’oeuvres will be served starting at 5:30 PM

Alan Dewitt of Thrivent Financial will help participants find answers to questions like “How much should I save for retirement?” and “What type of accounts should I have?”. Be confident in what you’re saving for retirement when you learn how to build a strong and adaptable financial strategy.

Marinette: Fraud and Identity Theft Prevention

October 25 at 6 PM

Marinette: Navigating Mortgages

October 8 at 6 PM

at the Stephenson Public Library

Steve Lang and Julie Braunschweig from Associated Bank will talk about how to understand the language of mortgages. This  session will be particularly helpful for anyone who plans to be a first-time homeowner.

BioBlitz: County Wide Events

Nature isn’t a place you go, it’s where you live! Join us to explore the nature right here in Marinette County.

Want to get your family off the couch and out for a real life adventure? All ages are invited to Meet Miss Lara from the Stephenson Public Library and crew at Harmony Arboretum and/or Dave’s Falls to see what kind of plants and animals live right here in Marinette County. We will use the free SEEK  app by iNaturalist that is designed for kids and families to use to identify local species, sort of like the musical Shazam app, but for nature. Events are free and open to all ages, but preregistration is needed.

MARINETTE: Youth Book Club ages 8-12

Read the book and join us at the library!  The club will include discussion of the book and a related activity.  Limited copies of the book will be available at the library for check out early in the month or reserve your copy with your library card online with infoSoup.

You may wonder about the benefits of reading to your baby. Believe it or not, by the time babies reach their first birthday they will have learned all the sounds needed to speak their native language. Hearing words helps to build a rich network of words in a baby’s brain. Join us as we play, sing, read, and rhyme in ways that foster bonding and learning.
